Indian Oncology Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cancer management since 2005. IOF is a resultant of sincere efforts by Dr. Ashok Vaid, Padma Shri , HOD Cancer Department, Medanta Hospital. Our goal is to make India cancer free and promote healthy living. We do this by undertaking well-planned comprehensive projects in health and medicine to develop knowledge and cooperation at SARC level.

With deadly diseases striking deep roots in India at an alarming rate, Cancer has become one of the major causes of death occurring in India, over 10 lakh new cases of cancer are diagnosed every year. However, due to late diagnosis/inadequate resources, over 7 lakh people die from the disease each year. Cancer cases or its incidence in India estimated to grow by 25% by 2020 (according to the cancer registry released by the Indian Council of Medical Research). 70 % of Indian cancer is preventable and 80% of cancer is curable if detected early. However, there is a serious dearth of facilities and qualified resources, mainly at the rural level which needs to be addressed on top most urgency.
