Dr. Ashok K. Vaid is MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Medical Oncology). In his current Appointment, he is working as chairman, Medical Oncology & Haematology, Medanta Cancer Institute, Medicity, Gurgaon, India. His previous appoints, he worked as Head, Deptt. of Medical Oncology, Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon, India and as Senior Consultant & Coordinator, Deptt. of Medical Oncology, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Rohini, New Delhi, India
Dr. Vaid has authored a number of publications, research papers and abstracts and has been actively involved in organising various seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the country. Dr. Vaid has also completed 25 international and national studies in clinical research. He has the unique distinction of having carried out the first 25 bone marrow transplants in any private sector hospital in North India.
He was conferred the prestigious "Padma Shri" Award the 4th highest civilian award in India by the PRESIDENT OF INDIA, for the year 2009 for contribution to the field of medicine on 14th April, 2009.
